English has always been a strong teaching department at Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School, one commited to the symbiotic relationship of teaching and creativity. Students going through our English programs will learn the importance of basic literary values as well as study historical and modern works. |

The Mathematics department provides some of the best math programs in Alberta. Our school consistently ranks among the top schools in Alberta for education in the math field. Offering both applied and pure math routes as well as advanced calculus courses in preparation for College and Univerisity, students of all levels are able to thrive at Lindsay Thurber. |

Our Social Studies department encourages our students in all areas including anthropology, geography, political science and sociology. Each our programs provides different but related perspectives that are essential for a critical appreciation of the immense challenges and opportunities that are becoming apparent early int he 21st century, such as globalization, rapidly increasing urbanization, the unevennes of development, social and evironmental sustainability, international migration and social cohesion. |

Our Physical Education department teaches our students to realize the importance of life-long, physical conditioning and nutrition to promote good health and confidence. Students are also introduced to the concepts of sportsmanship and leadership. We offer a wide range of curriculur and extracurricular activities that students can become involved in. |

Career and Technology Studies (Media and Design Studies) Our Career and Technology Studies (Business) program is designed to prepare students for the business world. The modular approach to the curriculum lets students focus on the skills set and industry they have an interest in. |
