My name is Kelsey Purcell. This is my second year at Lindsay Thurber and I am thrilled to be a part of the Thurber staff once again! This year I am teaching in a variety of departments, which is an exciting endeavor for me. My schedule entails ELA 9, ELA 93, ELA 20-2, Yoga 15/25/35 and Leadership 15/25/35.
I completed all of my own schooling within Red Deer Public schools, and I was lucky enough to complete my degree in Red Deer through the Red Deer College/University of Alberta Collaborative Middle Years Program. It's been such a pleasure to be a part of the Red Deer Public family both for my own schooling, and now my teaching career.
Prior to becoming an educator, I taught recreational and competitive dance for 10 years. I also obtained my journeyman hairstylist certificate 9 years ago and my 200 hour yoga teacher training 4 summers ago. When I'm not teaching I enjoy practicing yoga, working out, spending time with my husband (Jason) and our Australian Shepherd (Rio), and cooking healthy meals in our kitchen.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. It's such an honor being able to work with your student during their time here at LTCHS.
